Asymmetric Graded Porous Sintered Metal Powder Filter for High-Load Industrial Filtration

Asymmetric Sintered Metal Filter

CMI Asymmetric Sintered Metal Powder Filters are engineered for demanding industrial applications where conventional single-layer filters fall short. Manufactured through a specialized single high-temperature vacuum sintering process, these filters feature a graded porous structure created by co-sintering metallic powders of different particle sizes.

This innovative design incorporates an integrated two-stage filtration mechanism: a coarse outer layer that intercepts larger particles and a fine inner layer for precision retention (typically 0.5–10 μm). This asymmetric configuration significantly enhances permeability and provides a much higher dirt-holding capacity, resulting in lower differential pressure and a substantially extended service life. Available in a wide range of high-performance alloys including 316L Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Hastelloy, CMI’s asymmetric filters are exceptionally robust, backwashable, and ideal for high-solids load environments in chemical processing, catalyst recovery, and pharmaceutical decarbonization.

Graded Porous Structure for High Efficiency and Extended Service Life
CMI asymmetric sintered metal powder filters are manufactured by co-sintering metallic powders of different particle sizes in a single high-temperature vacuum sintering process, forming a graded porous structure.

The outer layer features larger pores to capture coarse particles, while the inner layer provides finer pores for precision filtration. This creates an integrated two-stage filtration mechanism within a single filter element.

Compared with conventional single-layer sintered metal filters, the asymmetric structure delivers improved permeability, lower pressure drop, higher dirt-holding capacity, and longer service life.

These filters are particularly suitable for applications requiring both high flow rates and stable fine filtration performance.
